El DirectTV-12 es un satélite de telecomunicaciones geoestacionario que ha sido construido por Boeing Co. usando el modelo de plataforma BSS-702. Tiene una masa de 5940 kg e incorpora 131 repetidores en banda Ka que podrán emitir televisión en alta definición. Su vida útil se estima en 15 años.
